Spot the Deliberate Mistake

The following graphic was recently used by a television programme to show the parts of England in which special Covid-19 restrictions are imposed:

Can any of you spot the deliberate mistake?

See below for the answer..

The deliberate mistake is of course that none of these areas is in Northern England: they’re all in the Midlands.

I hope this clarifies the situation.

One Response to “Spot the Deliberate Mistake”

  1. Phillip Helbig Says:

In addition, of course, West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester have been swapped.

Presumably the red dot in the middle of Greater Manchester is Lesser Manchester (also known as Salford) and the red dot in the middle of West Yorkshire is Central Yorkshire.

Beatles fans know that there are 4000 holes just in Blackburn, Lancashire. Why only one is shown as the red dot is a mystery to me.
